Nobody knows exactly, but probably the first counterfeit dates back since the introduction of the coin in human society. Romans made a series of counterfeits, later on called "legal", by making coins of copper silvered. Roman soldiers fighting in enemy territories were paid with these coins. If they were to be taken prisoners, they did not want to lose gold or silver this way! (...) details... In countries where democracy and market economy are currently strengthening, countries that were led by dictatorial regimes or centralized economies, freedom has lead to a real explosion on the market of services and large consume goods. Taking into account that the legislation for the protection of intellectual property rights and trademarks in these countries appears and is strengthening with time, the state's control bodies do not always manage to fight efficiently against counterfeiting. Cosmetic products, medicines, textiles, food, cellular phones, music or software CDs, spare parts for motor vehicles, these represent a multitude of counterfeited products, thrown on the market, under renowned trademarks, for attractive prices. The members of the association are:
Founder members – members that founded the association.
Partner members – members joining the association afterwards
Honorary members
 
 
Any natural or legal persons carrying out or not anticounterfeiting activities may become members of the association, either from inside the country or from abroad, provided that they support the association morally or materially, regardless of gender, religion, language, if they align to the provisions of the Constitutive Act of the Association and wish to participate to the accomplishment of its objectives.
the quality of founder member shall not be lost but by decease, loss of exercising capacity or under any of the provisions specified in article 64 of the Romanian Criminal code. In case of vacancy of any of the nine positions of founder member, the other eight members may award this position to another associated member of the association, for a majority vote of two thirds of their number.
The grounded proposal of the Board of Directors on awarding the quality of honorary member shall be approved by unanimous vote, for personalities providing significant support to the association, or for promoting the activities of the associations by exceptional actions or works.
 
 
All members of the association have the right to vote in the general meeting, except those that were temporarily suspended (for the period of suspension); founder members shall have de veto right.
The quality of member is individual, inalienable and nontransferable to any successors.
- The quality of member shall be lost by:
- withdrawal
- failure to pay subscription for six months
- ungrounded absence from at least three successive meetings of the GMA
- by exclusion of the association on basis of the grounded proposal of the Board of Directors, with the simple majority vote of the GMA members
Members of the association shall have the following rights:
- to attend to the general meetings of the association
- to elect or to be elected in the management of the association
- to participate to the actions of the association by vote, proposals, sponsorships or donations
- to benefit of the facilities and internal and international contacts provided by the association for the purpose of achieving notable results in the fields of activity of the association
- to benefit of awards, scholarships, deduction of expenses related to the participation to internal or international scientific manifestations within the limit or available funds and according to the criteria established by the members of the association in GMA
Members of the association shall have he following obligations:
- to pay the subscription in time
- to contribute to the efforts of the association in fulfilling the objectives specified in the Constitutive Act
- to know and to respect the constitutive act and internal regulations of the association
- to present in an accurate manner to the public opinion the objectives and activities of the association.
